The Battle Is The Lord's

the battle is the lord's

Have you been experiencing the worst from battling against the devil’s whispers in your head? Has this caused a great sense of overwhelm, anguish and despair to a point that it leaves you defenseless?

“The battle is the Lord’s…it is not mine.”

These powerful words are our battle cry when spiritual warfare is waged in our minds and in our hearts. When faced with a daunting challenge to overcome, we can wield God’s weapon of faith.

As we walk victorious with God on our side, His grace continues to save us and restores our spirit through these truths.

The Greatest Fight Of Faith

David and Goliath's story is one for the books. This story of faith and courage has been passed down from generations, attesting to God’s power to win over battles as large as giants.

Goliath, one mean, ugly and powerful giant, has been challenging the people of Israel. Forty days had passed and not a single one had dared to fight him. He saw David, who was everything he is not, and he despised him.

Battle-ready, Goliath came with swords, spears and javelin - while David had no physical weapons of any sort. Yet what he had was even more powerful, he came in the name of the Lord of hosts.

Uttering the words, “this day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you… that all the earth may know that there is a God in israel.”

David proved victorious with his faith, and buried Goliath’s head in Jerusalem. The hill where Goliath’s head was buried soon after became Golgotha, where a greater Son of David (Jesus Christ) would conquer a greater “Goliath”.

David’s powerful prayer, “we have no might nor power against this great multitude, but our eyes are upon You” signifies that one fights by not fighting…but entrusting our battles to God to win over.

And that’s the greatest fight of faith.

The Lord Fights For You

When you’re faced with a battle in life, know that God has already won it for you.

As shared by Joseph Prince in his sermon, This Is How We Fight Our Battles, the Lord will always fight for you.

As He is strong and great, so is His love for you. Your battle belongs to the Lord, while your part is simply to feed on and rest in His Word and His love

Believe that you are healed, and you are. We might catch ourselves complaining about our situation, where God’s response is “one more night” - one more night to strengthen your faith and trust in His power.

In Joseph’s words, “when you complain, you remain…when you praise, you get a raise above your situation”

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

Do you have a stronghold of fear in your life? Strongholds can test our faith and cause us to suffer from very depressive and defeatist thoughts that take over our minds.

The truth is, only with our experience of God’s perfect love can we pull down the strongholds of fear that trap us in a vicious cycle of negative emotions, bad habits or addictions.

Our emotions reflect our thoughts.

Joseph shares in his sermon, Here’s What’s Affecting Our Emotions, that right believing is crucial to right living, but right believing also produces the right emotions.

Right believing means having the faith of God knowing that there are good days ahead of us despite the “giants” we might be battling out in our lives right now.

As we accept these truths, our weapons against the dark days become more visible, shedding light on a seemingly bleak future.
